Conference Week

Ahoy Parents,

 

Our conference week this year is October 27^th- October 31^st. I will sign parents up based on who responds the soonest. I am also going to take into account if there are students who have siblings in other grades. During conference week students will be released at 1:10 every day. This Week! 9/29-10/3

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to give you all a rundown of what is happening this week.

Math: We will be working on addition and subtraction story problems, as well as counting by 10's starting at any number.

Reading: As a class we are reading The Librarian of Basra and continuing our discussion on what literacy looks like in other countries.

Writing: Finishing up rainbow metaphors, working on personal narratives.

Social Studies: Finished talking about where we are on the map. Now working on the 7 continents and 4 oceans.

Continents and Oceans Song

Hi,

The class is working on learning this song to help up remember the continents and oceans.

It is to the tune of One Little, Two Little, Three Little Indians... (Sorry not politically correct :/)

Africa, Antartica, and Australia
Europe is the only one that doesn't have an A.

Indian, Atlantic, Arctic, Pacific
We will be so specific
When we name the seven continents
and the four oceans.

Listen to Reading

Hi!

I am hoping to start having my students listen to audio books during our Daily 5 reading time. However, in order for this to work I need students to bring in their own headphones!
